On 8 October 2025, LAFERIA held the inception workshop for the Netherlands case study. Organised by the University of Wageningen (WUR), the meeting  welcomed 28 participants at Pallandtshoeve Farm to launch the case study. 

Representatives from 13 organisations, including farmers’ organisations, local governments, waterboards, conservation groups, researchers and volunteers, gathered to discuss the need for a network of landscape features in the region. The workshop focused on 3 main themes: 

• Choosing priority areas for landscape restoration
• Understanding farmers and public perception and support 
• Exploring funding and business models 

Through interactive discussions, participants shared ideas and answered questions such as What do you want to learn? Who should be involved? How can we investigate this?

The event offered time to connect, exchange ideas, and commence new collaborations. The day wrapped up with some free time to socialise, strengthening the network of participants.
