On 22 May 2025, LAFERIA’s coordinator Francisco Moreira (BIOPOLIS) attended the Continente Producers Club’s (CPC) conference, in Santarem, Portugal. The event marked Biodiversity Day by bringing together participants from private corporations and the retail sector. It featured sessions led by experts in biodiversity and agriculture, who shared their insights.

Among those experts was Francisco Moreira who, beyond his role as coordinator of LAFERIA, acts as senior researcher at CIBIO-BIOPOLIS, where he coordinates the research group on biodiversity in agricultural and forest ecosystems.

In the morning portion of the conference, Moreira presented LAFERIA to an audience of around 50, addressing the importance of diverse landscape features in intensive agricultural areas, especially within the scope of the Nature Restoration Law. He engaged participants with the project by sharing LAFERIA’s survey collecting initiatives involved in landscape feature reintroduction, and encouraged them to provide input. Information on 3 possible initiatives was gathered.
