In Alsace, the local water and sanitation authority (SDEA) worked with farmers on a nature-based solution to combat soil erosion and protect water quality. The project supported the planting of over 60,000 trees and hedges, successfully reducing erosion and nutrient leaching while restoring biodiversity, with farmer compensation ensuring participation.
